New Jersey Commission on Science and Technology Awards ProFACT Proteomics A Two Year Fellowship Grant

North Brunswick, N.J. (June 16, 2006) - ProFACT Proteomics, Inc. was awarded a New Jersey Technology Fellowship Grant by the New Jersey Commission on Science and Technology on May 19, 2006.

“The award will go to the hiring of Megan Tierney, once she completes her Ph.D. from Rutgers University, for a period of one to two years beginning in September, 2006. Her work will generate characterization data for advanced proteomic analysis with applications directed towards drug and diagnostics development” according to Swapan Roy, PhD, Chief Scientific Officer of ProFACT. “We are very excited to bring on this extremely capable, young researcher to our team,” added company President Matthew Kuruc.

The New Jersey Technology Fellowship program helps move cutting-edge research from the lab to the marketplace by providing funding for up to two years to emerging high-tech companies that hire postdoctoral graduates from New Jersey research universities. The first-year Fellows are awarded $75,000 and second-year fellows are awarded $85,000.

“Graduates who receive doctoral degrees in sciences and engineering from New Jersey universities represent one of our greatest resources,” said Commission Chairman Donald L. Drakeman “They bring new ideas into the workplace and provide tremendous expertise to technology companies across the state. This fellowship program helps New Jersey retain these talented scientists and supports our high-tech industry.”
